Psalm 86

A prayer of David.

1 Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;
answer me, for I need your help.
2 Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
3 Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
4 Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
5 O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
6 Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
7 I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.

What an awesome psalm to get to read in starting out this dreary day in Nebraska. Rain, wind, gloomy, just plain icky outside.

On the homefront, things are leaving - either getting sold on ebay or coming to the office to live till the house gets sold. DH has taken his real drum set to the shop, sold the electronic set last night to the neighbor who was happy to get them. Still so sad to see NO DRUMS in the house. Just weird feeling. So we both had kind of a downer night last night. But on to bigger fish, they are just drums. :)

Sad to see all of the kid's memorabilia come down off the walls, too. Definitely storing those at the shop - we'll NEVER give those up. Tyler's sports boards are way too precious - they can live at the office for awhile. :) It's great that DD#1 is taking all the kid book collections, she actually WANTED them! How about that!

I want to knit so bad, but it takes time of which I don't really have right now. PLUS it will have to be organized better and tucked away so nobody has to look at it. And I like being surrounded by yarn!!!!

Hope the sun comes out tomorrow! We could sure use a spell of it. :)

I hear ya! The rain stinks and makes my hair crazy!
I can't imagine what it looks like without all the memorabilia on the walls and the drums gone. Sad, but exciting to see what God has in store for you guys. I'm praying and we all know that some pretty awesome things happen when we let God have control! Love you and hang in there.

Thanks for sharing the prayer, what peace it brings to the heart.
I'm glad things are going well, and there's progress being made. At least you have some place to store it and don't have to rent a unit.
The scarf is moving right along so I hope to have it done before long. Don't worry, you'll get back to knitting soon.
Have a great weekend and hope some sun comes your way soon.

Karen, thanks so much for letting me re-see the psalm in a whole different light. I am giving a talk on "prayer" tomorrow night, and will use it as my opening prayer. It includes almost all of the forms of prayer -- you are "heaven-sent". Blessings!
